Speculation Before Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 ( COD MW3 ) Release Announcement

With less than 24 hours before call of duty modern warfare 3, COD MW3, is officially announced; onvideogames wants to get everybody into cod fever by talking about speculation and peoples expectation into this much anticipated game.  While we will be discussing our thoughts on what has already been confirmed, we would like this article to be an open conversation with fans, so please comment on what you are hoping to see in cod mw3.

Despite little information being leaked before the announcement, we know that the story line is going to range from the US to England, France and Germany, with speculation that mw3 could even reach Somalia and Russia.  Since we know that our protagonists began in hiding in the final scenes of mw2, people have speculated that MW3 is going to be less like the its predecessors and more similar to black ops, with Soap, Price and Nikolai trying to regain their name rather than being part of an army.  For this reason, we believe that mw3 is going to be more about running away rather than assassination missions like mw2 and mw before it.  Since MW, people having been asking Activision and infinity ward whether they will involve the use of armour and vehicles in their next episodes.  While we saw the user take control of an AC130, a snow bike and a chopper gunner, we have yet to see a full flexible use of vehicles in any of the MW games.  With it looking likely that the story line wont involve the backing of a full army, it looks like this is not set to change.  Any information about this topic tomorrow will be even more interesting as MW3 is coming under pressure to perform against the highly impressive looking Battlefield 3, that will not only see the use of vehicles, but a much more sophisticated graphics engine, compared to the MW2 graphics engine that MW3 has been confirmed to keep.

With the style of multiplayer action being similar for both MW and MW, and still staying similar for Black Ops, it is looking likely that we won’t see many dramatic changes, meaning that co-op will be the side that we should be keeping an eye on.  It will also be interesting to see how over the top and unrealistic the technology of MW3 will be, considering the criticism it came under for MW2.  MW was praised for being an accurate game depicting modern warfare, however the heart beat sensor on every other soldier in multiplayer, and an EMP taking out all of Washing DC in the story line, MW2 took technology to the next, and less realistic level.  In MW3 it is likely that we will either see a retreat by Infinity ward back to the 2011 soldier, or they will take it even further.  I wouldn’t be surprised if we see soldiers firing rail guns and lasers in the next episode, but I sure hope they don’t.

What are you hoping to hear tomorrow, would you like to see the use of vehicles and more modern weapons; or would you prefer that infinity ward gave us the usual dose of modern warfare that has been so successful before?

    @richard
    noob tubes i understand but snipers and shot guns? might as well take out smg’s lmg’s assault riffles, heck just take out all the guns. there not ganna do that. also noob tubes are still in mw3 look at the leaked info.

    isnt one of the key selling points of COD MW that it is realistic to whatever extent a computer game can be? Wouldnt removing real weapons just make the whole game a fake? That why i dont want to see any stupid things like the heart beat sensor, may make the game easier for some people but its not realistic

    I’d rather have MW3 be like MW2 with the same killstreaks, some of the guns from MW2 and Same graphics, as we can remember, all of us had fun playing MW2 everyday but as soon as black ops came out, everybody was complaining, even me, it would be the best if infinity ward took over again and made the same gameplay style, but taking out snipers? Please don’t beacause how will we be amazed by those who have talent and enjoy using their favorite gun, the sniper? Do you all agree with me?

    I hope that there is a co-op campaign, but not like spec ops. Like actual missions and nit just rip of get from point a to point b missions, or survive 5waves of enemies. An actual co-op campaign I guess. Kinda like splinter cell conviction.

    Noobtubes and the weopons variety are not the problem, the problem with these games is that too many players are concerned with their own selfish staistics and this makes for really lame gameplay. THE MAIN STATISTIC IN MULTIPLAYER SHOULD BE WINS> The game is a lot funner when players are playing together to win, this is simply not the case with a lot of first person shooters, a lot of players are only concerned with their kills or statistics and no one is to blame but the game creators for this. Reward players for team wins mainly. Lag can be another issue.

    I agree with Anthony.

    Groiundwar – Domination is great when the team works together, same with SnD etc etc.

    I want to see a BETA, I do not want to see hacked leaderborads on like DAY RELEASE!

    Even if this sounds noobish, if they include tubes, I’d like to have the option to have one and another attachment like in mw2 with bling.
